Smarter searching, more frequent checks
Wingman now spends its searches where prices move, which leaves more of them for the trips coming up. Flexible trips got a price calendar too.
Every check is a live search on Google Flights, and each plan has a number of them a day. This week's work makes each one count for more.
- Calm dates wait. A date whose price comes back the same, search after search, is checked less and less often until it moves again. Dates months away wait longer anyway, since their fares move slowly.
- Answers are shared. When two watches need the same search within a few minutes, one search serves both.
- Flexible months ask the calendar first. Google's price calendar gives every day's lowest fare in one request, so Wingman searches the promising days first and leaves out the ones that can't come close to the best trip it has found.
What that means for you: the trips coming up are checked more often, on the same plan.
A price calendar for flexible trips
On the web, a flexible trip now shows its month as a calendar, each departure day with its cheapest trip, so you can see at a glance which days are worth it. The route sits on a globe beside it, and prices roll to their new value when they change.
